My H1-B and my wife's H4 expired in January 2005 and both of us got out renewal paperwork that extends the visa for another 3 years (prior to the expiration). My wife will be traveling to india next month. Since the current visa on her passport has expired I believe she will have to goto the US consulate in mumbai for her new visa. My question is since my visa has also expired in the passport and I am not traveling with her will she encounter any potential problems getting her new visa stamped on her passport. Does my visa need to be stamped before she can apply for hers or can she just take photocopies of my renewal paperwork as sufficient proof?
