I am currently in the US. My wife is in India and is planning to apply for an H4 visa. The mumbai consulate's website at

says - "Dependents not applying along with H1B/L1 applicant will have to submit photocopy of principal applicant's H1B/L1 visa.". However, my H1B visa has expired although I have a valid I94 and Notice of Approval from the INS.
My question is- Do I need to send my wife a copy of my expired H1B visa along with other paperwork or would she be able to get a visa without fulfilling this requirement?
