My friend got married to green card holder. She is in india. If she applies for H4 visa, how long will it take to get it.Pleas help me in this regard.

Thank you

She can apply for a H4 visa only if the husband has H1 visa. Since her husband is a LPR there is nothing she can do, she has no rights, and can't go to USA with any other visa except H1.

Cant she apply for dependent visa which is usually given to spouse of green card holders(that means she also gets green card).
Her H1 got rejected. She is looking for other ways to go to US.

Well, She has to apply Under Family Based Immigration through her Husband(if they got married after het husbands GC approval). Go through the the threads in the Family Based Immigration forums. The Current wait time is 4-5 Years now a Days.

H1 is the best Option. Curious, Why did her H1 got rejected?

Thank you rammyrammy and marioana,

She did her masters in London. She went for stamping at London. They said your credentials is from india. We wont accept your credentials. Go to Indian consulate.
If she comes to idnia for stamping. Will she get it?She wants toa pply in Feb in India.Till then she wants to stay there.
Whats your suggestion?

Thanks

It seems she didn't got rejected, just that they didn't want to stamp it in UK. From what I heard the H1 visa doesn't get denied from the consulate, only if she did something wrong and she is not qualified to work in the position for wich the visa was issued.

Yes there is a Good chance of getting it if she applies in India.
If significant time passes, after her H1 Case approval, She has to make sure that
the Job She originally had, Still exists.
