My wife's H4 visa dropbox appointment is a week prior to my H1 visa dropbox appointment. I would like to confirm if it is possible for us to travel together since the primary applicant's appointment is after the H4 appointment. Few sources say that the H4 dropbox needs a copy of the primary applicant's stamped visa which I wouldn't have since my visa appointment is a week later and other sources mentioned that I797 copy of primary applicant should be good so can travel together.
I didn't travel after switching to current employer so my most recent H1 stamping is from my previous employer.
My wife's most recent visa is F1 but changed status to H4 and extended the same H4 status along my recent H1 extension, earlier this year in May.
Both H1 and H4 are renewals ( or extensions ) and both applications are approved.
Can one of the experts confirm if we can travel together or do I have to travel later after the H4 appointment ?
