H4 Visa _ what will be the expiry date?

Hi Everyone,

I have a valid H1-B visa in my passport till Nov 1, 2007 and has pervious employer name Employer A.

Now I work for Company B and have I-797 till Oct 2008.

I am getting married in March 2007. The question is, when my wife goes for H4-visa to consulate, will they issue Visa till Nov 1st, 2007(Based on Visa in passport) or Oct 15th 2008(based on I-797).

If she gets till Nov 27th, thats for just 7 months..so is there a chance that the consulate can reject the H4-visa because its for just 7 months...

she will get the Visa based on your new I-797, which is Oct 2008 in your case. explain the situation to her, the VO might question her. My wife was asked by the VO the same question. I hope this helps...

Does it matter if the company name is A (previous) on visa?
