H4 to L1 - petition issue

Hi,
My wife has a H4 visa which she got 10 days ago in India (at Mumbai consulate).Now her company has agreed to do an L1 visa for her to work in the USA office and she has to file for L1...

1) Her original L1 petition was valid till Jan 2007..Will the L1 petition (not the L1 visa but the petition submitted by the company to obtain her L1 visa) still be valid even after she got the H4 or does a new petition need to be sumbitted by the company to the conuslate when she goes for the L1 visa interview ?

Her Old petition is valid. She can book the appointment & go for the interview. Check the consulate webpage for the Appointment avalability.
