H4 to H1b and traveled to India during petition filled

hello ,
I came in on h4 visa on feb 07 and i applied on Apr 2007 for H1b and on Apr10 i had to leave to India due to an emergency and was back on Apr 20th i got my visa approved and a new I94 ,The I94 in my I797 shows the one which i came on Feb and i went to SSn office on Oct 10th and they said it would take 8-12 weeks for them to process and give a SSN , and they say the immigartion has not verified my details, every time i go if anybody has gone through similar to my case pls help me how to proceed..

Here is what I understand ... when you entered the U.S. during April, your I-94 was based on your H-4 visa. Later, this was overridden by the new I-94 from the H-1B approval notice (as per start date). So, which I-94 did you furnish during your visit to the SSN office in October?
 
Mr manwithnoname, i came into US on feb 2007 with my spouse on H4 visa i was given a i-94 , then based on this i-94 my employer applied my change of status for H1b and as a family emergency i went to india on apr10th i gave back the i-94 which i recieved on feb and when i came back on apr 20th i was given a new i-94 . now in my i-797 doc with my h1b approval down at the bottom the i-94 number that it has is my i-94 which i recieved when i came on feb 2007 , i was asked to show my h1b approval document(i-797) at ssn office and this where i stand waiting for more than 3 months ..
 
I-94 number won't change for extension / change of temporary status within U.S.
Yes, someone with a similar experience at Social Security office can ellaborate ...
