Hi,
I have been on H4 visa since 2002 and my husband has already filed for LC, which has not yet shown any response. I am planning to start my residency in 2007 for which i will have to file H1. However, till then i will have completed almost 5 years on H4 and will have only 1 more year for H1. I wanted to ask if that is so, is there a way i can complete 3 years of my residency without any problems for H1 visa. How do i go about. Will apprciate qiuck response.
Thanks
Jdoshi

Seems to be a common scenario.

Check out the thread by critical25 for some ideas. You best bet is your spouses GC application. By then, you guys should have a concurrent I485 cooking so you can swit to EAD.

Consider enrollng in a cmmunity college. Get a certification as forkliftoperator or something. They can give you an I20 which would allow you to COS to F1 status allowing you to 'preserve' timE..
It would cost you some money for tuition, but not as much as entering the physician workforce a year late due to visa woes.L
