i have two questions

presently i am on H4 visa ,my husband 6 years period is going to end by july.he is going to apply for 7 year extension,we r on labour processing,now CAN I APPLY FOR H1? my doubt is now if i apply for h1 at my time of my processing my husband h1 will be expired. can anybody explain me detail.

i am applying for h1 for first time from h4 to h1.
with the reciept can i work?
 
Your first question is not clear.

Regarding your second question, you CANNOT start work with the receipt as this is the first time that you are going to apply for H1.You can work ONLY AFTER your H1B gets approved.

If you were currently working on H1 and another organization files your H1,then only you can start on the basis of the receipt notice of that new H1.
