H4 to H1 Visa stamping at Tijuana, Mexico

Hi, My wife came to USA on H4 Visa and the visa expired in Dec 2005(also I94) , she got her H1 visa before her H4 expired. We are planning to go to Mexico for H1 stamping and here are my questions. Please help

1) What if she got denial for H1 stamping, since her H4 is expired would she be allowed to enter US? We have a new born son in USA and would be in a bad situation if we are not allowed into US

2) If incase her H1 is denied, can we request consulate to give her H4 visa?

3) How to take appointment at consulate in Tijuane, Mexico?

4) Also, please tell us what documents to carry with us for H1 stamping.

In same boat

My question is that my wife has an unexpired H4 in passport but she applied for H1 last year and is on H1 visa form Oct'05. SO if her visa gets rejected in canada or mexico can she return back to US on her unexpired H4 and I94.

Please let me know.
