Hello All

I was on H4 till 2005, I got my H1 approved in Dec 2005, We applied to Canadian Immg and got our PP stamped, We are planning to land next month.
Q1: As a Canadian Immigrants can we go for stamping in canada to re-enter usa? I mean what are the chances for the Canadian Immigrants? or it does not matter who you are for the american consulate guys?

My husband have a B1 visa stamped (expired) and have a valid I797 and a valid I94, I have H4 visa stamped (expired) and have a valid I797 and valid I94.
Q2: Any issues if going for stamping with B1 visa and H4 visa, like they may say go back to your home country..INDIA.. such things.

If so,
Q3: what should we do? can we say that we are canadain Immigrants? can we apply again for the visa? (Not able to think, my brain stops working sometimes)

Q4: Do we, me and my husband need to make 2 seperate appointments at nvars or 1 appointment is enough for both of us?

We are also planning to use AVR, instead of going for visa. (Dont know, not decided yet)

Gurus please advice. Thanks in Advance..

Hi,

The following responses might help you. Always seek more than one opinion.

Q1: As a Canadian Immigrants can we go for stamping in canada to re-enter usa? I mean what are the chances for the Canadian Immigrants? or it does not matter who you are for the american consulate guys?

Yes, you can go for stamping in Canada to enter US. Chances of Canadain Immigrants - good to none. Of course, it should not matter to the VO as long as you are seeking a visa

Q2: Any issues if going for stamping with B1 visa and H4 visa, like they may say go back to your home country..INDIA.. such things.

There is no need for you to go to India as you are landed immigrants in Canada - you can continue staying in Canada

Q3: what should we do? can we say that we are canadain Immigrants? can we apply again for the visa? (Not able to think, my brain stops working sometimes)

You can apply for the visa again - in the event it is rejected. No one in the forum so far has written that their visa is rejected - only delayed for some processing issues - varies case by case

Q4: Do we, me and my husband need to make 2 seperate appointments at nvars or 1 appointment is enough for both of us?

One appointment is sufficient for both

Hope this helps. Else come back to the forum

Thanks Subramanya for your response..

As stated in the earlier post, me and my husband have h1's, I have read lot of posts in this forum but I am still not sure that we need 2 appointments or just 1 because we both are on h1's.

Any more inputs on this appointment question.. Appreciate your answers.

Thanks

Hi,

As written earlier, 1 appointment is sufficient. The appointment can be on the same day, but the site will give you different times. Also, when the appointment is taken it will appear as two appointments. You may need to pay separate fees for both the visas. Even though the times will be different you appraoch the same VO for visa stamping at the same time

Further info, drop a line

Thanks Subramanya

Little confused here, when you first enter your details in nvars, next will be your dependent info, then how can I take 1 appointment?

My husband entered his info and added our son as dependent. I have entered my info seperately. As I am not dependent he did not add me as his dependent, that means two passports and two ref numbers . How can we take one appointment?

Really appriciate your answers.

Hi,

If the site does not permit you for a single appointment for both of you H1 holders, then I am dead wrong. I am sorry for that. But I do hope that you can take two appointments on the same day and appear at the same consulate and at the same VO at the same time.

Please let the forum know your decision. It will be an experience for others to follow
