Hi all,

My wife is currently on H4 visa and planning to transfer to F1 visa. I am starting school from fall 2009 semester. I have couple of questions.

1) My wife has received only 1 copy of I-20. Do i need to send the original I-20 along with the I-539 application or photocopy is allowed. ?

2) Do I need to send original I-94 or photocopy is allowed ?

3) I have financial documents dated Jan 15, 2009. Do i need a recent statement or can I use the old one. Is there any requirement that supporting documents cannot be more then 3 months old. i couldn't find this information on USCIS website. The reason I am asking is because I have bank of America account and they charge $10 for new statement. :(

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,

I think that all the documents needed are copies, if they need originals then you send them (they USCIS will ask for them). I would suggest that your wife talk to her ISO (international student officer) to help her review the application before sending it out they should be able to help you with that.

Send the most recent bank account. It is better to be safe than sorry.
