H4 to F1 Visa Conversion

My wife is on H4 visa and she is doing her BS in nursing. We want to convert her visa to F1 so that she can utilize the OPT. When is the good time to convert her to F1? Will it be ok, if we opt for F1 student visa in the last semester? (This would help me in reduced fee at the college for the semesters prior to it. I am on H1-B and the employer has just started my GC process and I:) am in the first phase of GC. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I'm sailing in the same boat.My wife studying for BSN here in US and she is in H4 and planning to convert to F1 visa.My employer has also started GC process and waiting for LC.Other than OPT any other additional advatages do you see in F1 visa.We can share our experice if you can Email to me tomy_john123@yahoo.com
