H4 to F1 (turning 21 before the start of classes)

Hi! I recently filed my COS H4->F1 before my 21st birthday. I found in the USCIS website that as long as you file your COS before your H4 expires, you're still ok. However, a friend told me that I should still be in status 30 days before the start date stated in the I-20.

The problem is im turning 21 this mid-July but the start of classes is September 23. Will USCIS reject my application because of the 1-month gap?

Did you got your F-1? because my son has same situation as yours & we filled F-1 .
