I am currently on H1 visa (also stamped in passport). I'll be getting married in few months time in India.
My fiancee would want to study after coming to the US.
I was wondering whether it is advisable for her to come on H4 visa and then study (either on H4 or changing status to F1) or apply from India nad come on F1 itself?
as i understand, seems H4 is a safer bet.. please advice?

If she comes on H4, seems like stuudying on F1 has more advantages as one gets to work and can also get CPT, OPT.. So was wondering how easy it is to change status to F1?
Once she comes to US and applies and gets I-20 can we apply for change of status to F1.. and approximately how long does it take? any risks involved?
I heard from someone that even for this change of status to F1 one has to leave the country, is that true?

We can apply for this change immediately on receiving the I-20 from the school without having to wait for the semester to start.. right?
3) Later, when she goes out of the country, she'd need F1 stamping.. does the probability of rejection increase at that time as she was on H4 before.. so they know the spouse is on H1 here.. and shows more intent to stay back etc?
