My wife will be travelling to India soon (by herself). We are in the 7th year extension and she plans to get her visa stamped in Mumbai, but without the H1 stamped on my passport. So she will just be using her approval and a copy of my approval for the interview (if necessary). I personally think it should be okay, but please let me know if you or your friends have experienced any issues.
