This will affect the revalidation.
There is a strong likelihood that your visas also might be cancelled in chennai consulate if they demand W-2s etc. What are the document list given by the US consulate?
Get revalidated, consult a lawyer and try to get the H1 extension approval from company A or lawyer. They have to give the approval notice to you- at least a copy. You can also use I824 to get the I797 copy directly from INS. Also search for freedom of information act provision to get copies of your approvals. I think that there was a group which had successfully used FOIA to get some LC documents in the I485 - AC21 portability forum.
Go to consulate only after getting the old approval notice and revalidated visas.
