h4 - H1b stamping

Hi,

My wife came here in August 2004 on a h4 visa and then got her H1- b Visa last Oct 2005. She was on bench for oct, nov and dec. Then we generated her original pay stubs paying the employer for Jan, Feb and March as we were worried she might be out of status. Then she got a job in April.

She wants to got to India for a few weeks. I have a few questions connected to that

(1) Can her get her H4 - H1b stamping done either in Canada or Mexico?
(2) If stamping cannot be done, is chennai our only option?
(3) For a stamping in a Chennai do we need W2 for 2005 or would the paystubs be enough? Is it possible to get an emergency appointment or appointment in any other city in India?

I would really appreciate it if some one could answer these questions. I was reading up on other threads and some one said that "first time h4- h1 stamping" have to go to native country but some one else said they can go to Canada or Mexico.

It would be great if some one could answer my questions.

YES you can do stamping anywhere you want.

NO, you are free to do it anywhere since she worked in US.

YES you need W-2. Not that they will ask but it's the most commonly asked documents. More papers you have, your chances of getting stamped without hassels increases. Yes she can take emergency appointment anywhere in India.
