H4 for dependent while on 485

If somebody has info about this please clarify:

Myself, spouse and child filed for AOS in Sep\'99.
Our H1/H4 expired Dec\'31 2000.
Self and Spouse have EAD. That gives us a status(???)
Is the child out of status? Do we need to extend the H4?
If Yes, what is the procedure?

Maha Gu, filing i-485 itself gives you the status to remain in the country. EAD is the additional document that authorizes you to work. As your son/daughter is probably not working, hence, an EAD was not applied. So, nothing to worry about. However, if you need to travel outside the country, you need Adv Parole for all.
