Hi

I am on h4 visa at present and doing my phd program. I am going to india in may for vacation. I plan to change my status to F1 by going to consulate in india. My Q is that i have a valid h4 visa and if my f1 is denied can i enter US on my valid h4 visa. or i have to reapply again for h4 or is there any more problems . I know i can change my status in US itself but i need to anyway got to india for stamping so was planning to do all of this when i am in india for vacation..but i am confused about the possibilty of never being able to come back if F1 is rejected. Thank you in advance and hope i get some help here:confused:
 
This issue is one of the most talked about. I know F2 wife(Like H4) getting F1.... but F1 has non immigration intent....so based on that F2 can get F1 as they both have same intent....but H1B is dual intent...so H4 to F1 is risky. Better spend 2 years or so and then go for VISA stamping.
