H4 extension

Hello,

Can any body tell me how H4 status is extended. If my H1 I-797 gets extended, does my spouse automatically gets h4 extension? Is a new H4 stamp necessary to stay in status?

Don't forget to apply seperately for H4

Do not forget to apply for H4 extention (I-539) for your wife. You both carry status individually. Just because u got H1B and I-94 extended for certain date doesn't mean your wife also got the status for that date. This is a very expensive mistake people do. Don't do the same. Apply for her also right away. However just for your understanding, you don't need stamping on ur passport to maintain the status.
