Anybody has any 'real-life' experience with this new
rule that 'wife should have husband's name endorsed
or change the surname to husband's name', either
with Mumbai or Chennai consulates.
I'm trying to get H4 re-stamping in Mumbai for my wife.
When my wife contacted the passport office (Mumbai) they
are insisting on issuing a NEW passport for my wife, if
she needs endorsement (which will be a big hassle)
Is this true ? Has anybody got endorsed spouse name
in the old passport itself ? (in Mumbai)
