H4 ead auto extension question

Hi,

My current H1b and my wife H4 and H4ead valid util 08/10/2025 I-94 is also expiring on08/10/2025.
We have applied for extension for H1B, H4 and H4ead and it's still in processing.

Question :
Can H4ead can work after 08/10/2025 while H4 ead and H4 application is pending ?
Is my spouse eligible for H4ead auto extension?
 
I am also in the same boat. However, after reading a lot of articles this is what I understand. (I could be 100% wrong as well)

For H4 holder it is mandatory to have valid I-94 to continue working. Auto-extension eligibility is extended only till I-94 validity.

There are 2 ways to get it

a. If H4 visa is stamped on the passport with valid I-94 in your case 8/10/2025 - Go to border when H1B is approved and get I-94 extended.
b. Go to your home country or nearby US consulate and get H4 Visa Stamped.
