My wife's H4 visa extension's approval notice bears an end date that is different from my H1B extension's end date.
I had applied for my H1B transfer and extension in June 2004 when I changed jobs. My H1B approval notice came through in early February 2005 showing a validity period until November 2005. My wife had separately applied in December 2004 for her H4 extension (which was expring in February 2005). We received her approval notice in the first week of March 2005 showing a validity period until March 30, 2005 (based on the H1 approval notice from my earlier employer).
I have inquired with the INS about the discrepancy and requested a rectification in early March of 2005 but haven't heard from them at the time of writing (March 21, 2005). I have spoken to an immigration officer who asked me to directly speak to the service center (Vermont) although I'm not aware of any process that allows for that. Since my wife has 9 more days to officially remain in status, what do I need to do in order to ensure that she does not fall out of status or become delinquent in INS's view?
