H4 and EAD

I apologize in advance for cross-posting this thread. But I feel that you guys will answer this much faster.

My wife is currently working on her EAD. I had renewed her H4 last year (when she was not on her EAD). Its time to renew her H4 again. Should I renew it even though she's on an EAD? I guess she's lost her H4 status ever since she moved on to her EAD. Is my assumption correct?

Why would you want to renew her H-4 when she is not even on H-4 at this time? As long as you (the primary) are on H-1B she can request to go back on H-4 any time (say, I-485 gets denied). Otherwise, don't do anything with regards to H-4. It would only cost you money and not do any good (since she's using the EAD anyway).

In fact this raises the question: are you still on H-1B or are you using the EAD? If you are using the EAD you are not on H-1B and consequently she cannot be on H-4 again either.

No. I'm still on H1-B. I just wanted to reconfirm the fact that H4 status is revoked when an EAD is used.
