Anyone know anything abt my situation below- ur response is appreciated:
My wife came to the US with me on May 19th 2006 on H4 visa. She has currently enrolled in the local community college for pre-nursing course and expects to purse either an associates degree or a bachelors degree depending on where she gets admission.
Her h4 expires on Aug 8th 08 and my H1 expires on May 8th 08.
My question is - will it be hard for her to get onto a F1 visa in a community college for her Associate degree?
I see that she does not get any fee benefits as she has just arrived in the US 45 days ago and hence needs to live in ohio for 1 yr to get full time in state tuition benefits.
right now she gets in state tuiton if she registers for 6 vrdit hours or less.
My question is -- is it hard to get an F1 approved for a community college. She plans to shift to F1 next fall as she gets an OPT to be immediately employed as a nurse when she is done with the program.
Also, Will the INS say that she is trying to immigrate as a nurse and hence deny as F1 is a non-immigrant visa and she could be a potential immigrant?
