Hi,

I'm currently in US on a H4 visa. A few months back, a company applied for a H1 visa on my behalf and its currently being processed. Due to personal reasons, I now do not want to accept the job and would like to continue here on my H4 visa. Is there someway in which I can cancel the H1 application/stop the processing of my H1 visa? How do I ensure that I continue on my H4 visa?

Ask your employer to withdraw the application. If the H1 is approved, then you are automatically on H1 status and you loose your H4. To get back onto H4, you need to re-apply for H4 status.
