H1B vs. O1?

I am in transtion to another company. Currently I am H1B visa holder. I talked to one lawyer and he said I am qualifed for O1. Now the question is What\'s the advantages and disadvantage of H1-B and O1? What\'s the time frame?

It takes just ten days to get O-1 visa and it is better than H1 in all aspects including indefinite time period and with o-1 you are respected/valuable stuff for USA.

Do you need to be a Ph.D. to obtain the O visa? Are Masters degree in engineering with about six publications, AIChE local chapter award, P.E., seven years experience qualify for an O visa?

No. Ph.D is not must. You need to have good attorney who can present whatever we have. Do not woory about their specifications. Attorney can present the way that works.
