H1B visa stamping & travel

Hi

Im presently on J2 visa and my H1B has been approved starting October 01, 2007. I am planning to go to India in July07. Would that affect my change of status in any way? Is it advisable to go? Also once in India can I get the H1B visa stamped? Is there a time limit on how many days in advance I can get it stamped?

Also what documents do I need to carry with me for H1B visa stamping (this is my first time H1B visa).

you can enter the USA not more than 10 days before the commencement of your H1 job.....there are many threads in this forum that discuss the documents needed for H1 visa stamping....check the one on H1B ISSUES at consulates and revalidation
