H1B Visa Stamp

I have an approved H1B on its second term valid until Oct 2005.
My wife has a approved H4 and my 3year old daughter is a US Citizen. We (My wife and myself) came on a tourist Visa in 1999 as my wife had medical complications with her preganancy

I want to travel and am planning to go to Vancouver, Canada to get a visa stamp, My questions are.....

1....Is it ok to go to Canada to get visa stamp?
2....If not is it ok to go to India (Delhi)?

For getting the Visa Stamp in your Passport you do not need
to travel any where.

I am assuming that your new H1 Notices of approval came with
the detatcheble I-94s at the bottom. If that is the case you can
send the paper work to St.Louis and get the stamping done.

However if you are going to Vancouver, Canada for any other
reason, then you can get it stamped by going to the US Consulate.

Visa Re-validation

Look in this forum or the other forums. Right now I can not
give you the exact location, but there is plenty of information all
over the place.

You can also get this information by going to the Depart of State
website. ( http://travel.state.gov ) and look for visa re-validation.

Keep in mind the following important points:

1. Your passport MUST contain a similar category of Visa stamping
earlier. That means there should have been a H1B Visa stamp
in your passport. From you post it is not clear whether you
have had it stamped with H1B visa stamp when you got your
first H1. If not then, then you cannot get it re-validated here.

If your answer to the above is 'yes' then:

2. It will be re-validated ONLY if:

a) The earlier visa is going to expire within 60 days of applying.

or

b) It has not been more than 1 year since that stamp expired.

( So, if your situation is (a) you need to wait till it is 60 days
or less to the expiry date.

If your situation is (b) then you need to travel outside
( I am not sure whether it SHOULD be your home country)
to get the Visa stamping ).

St Louis Revalidation

Only bad thing about sending to St.louis is the 6 - 8 (sometimes longer) weeks time it takes,
but it beats the cost of traveling to Vancouver or Delhi
