H1B Visa Requirement for Candian Immig

Hi All,

Thanks to all who have responded my qurries in past. I wanted to ask a question on the H1visa requirement and interview prep for Candian PR.

The scenario is Candian PR has started to go to school from Jan 2003 but due to Visa requiement from March2003, instead of applying F1 Visa to persue studies he opted for H1. Now he needs to know what are the "documents" and "Preparation" required in his scenario for an H1 interview?
Applicant has Mechnical degree and going for a job that requires Mecahnical and Computer knowledge. Since he landed in Canada there were no job related to his field so he has to work in Factories as a factory worker to survive. So my question is if Counselor asks what he was doing last year? should he disclose the last job as factory worker? Also if counslor asks why he didnt apply for F1, is there any better reason should he give instead of saying he got offer of H1 and he can countiue his studies on H1 as well.

Also does counselor ask technical questions?????????? do they have enough knowledge???

Any thought or idea that can help us to prepare for interview would be greatly appreciated,

I think ...

saying that you wanted to continue to work so that you can pay for the college fees ( since there is no aid avaialble now a days on F1 anyway) is a good reason to give.

I think the main point of the interview is to make sure that the interviewer understands you desire to come and make a home in canada...H1 visa status has been abused by people to just go and get a PR status and then come back to the USA.

So if you can show that you have not applied for GC etc...you will be fine. Tryin to prove that you have tried to get jobs in Canada, have contact with technical recuriters will help too.
