H1B Visa re-validation question to those from SR countries.

Hello,

I am a British citizen but was born in a SR country. I need to re-validate my H1B visa but my attorney has advised me that my application may be rejected by the State Department. The alternative would be to apply from a US Consulate abroad but it may end up taking a long time (from a few days to a few weeks). I think it would be no harm in making an application to the State Department as there is a possibility that they may issue the visa. I would like to hear from other people who are in the same position as I am. Has anyone from a SR country successfully had his H1B visa re-validated at the State Department. Thanks

It varies from case to case. There is no hard and fast rule about SR countries for visa revalidation at state department.
