H1B visa program violation

I am worked under H1B visa for a consultancy based out of Troy, Michigan.
I was forced to quit the job because of differences with the employer.
Before employment had started, I had to sign a contract saying that I would
stay for one year.

Now the employer had sued me for 25000K dollars. I had reported this to the Department of Labor. I feel asking money for H1B filing and putting bond in the contract both are illegal as far as H1B visa program is concened.

Now the question is how to legally fight the case in the court. I am based at California now and the case is being filed at Troy Michigan.
 
You are right putting a bond in the contract should be illegal as far as H1B is concerned. You should have no problems defending this and the employer should be worried for their own violations and particularly if they are doing this with other employees.

yeah I am alreadly trying to legally defend the case. But I was surprised to see that there was no action taken by Department of Labor on this. There wages & hour division website clearly states about H1B rights but even if you complain they dont take up the case ( This happened in Michigan ) , dont know if its only a oneofakind case with me.
