Dear sir,

My employer(the company where i am presently employed) has applied for H1B and I got my papers.I had dropped my papers through TTS drop box service on August 8th 2001 to chennai consulate,India. in continuation to that I received a letter from the consulate that my case was referred to AFU for additional verification under section 221(g).

Now It has been more than 16 months since I received the above mentioned letter and was waiting for further Communication/verfication from consulate but in vain.

My particulars at the time of submitting for H1B are
1) Education : BSC(computers 15years education)
2) Work experience : 2 and half years
3) designation : software engineer

My Present particulars are
1) Education : MCA (18yrs education)
2) Work experience : 4Years
3) designation : system analyst

Now I wish to pursue my career abroad with the updated qualifications and experience.I request you to please advice me whether there are any indications of reviving the existing petition or should I file a new petition.

My petition would expire in another 8 months. I would be thankfulf to you if you could please let me know the possibilities of going abroad.

Regards,
Sridhar.g

Are you sure that the consulate is still processing your case? Perhaps they mailed a letter to you, but it got lost in the mail?

For a new job with different qualifications, a new H1B petition needs to be done by the prospective employer.
