H1B visa case

Hi all,

I'm a young professional in the film industry from Spain who wants to go to work to Los Angeles in California. There is a film production company there who is willing to offer me a job as part of their production staff. The job title has not yet been determined. They say that they are open to offer me several positions i can choose from if that's gonna help me obtaining the visa. The only thing i know is that they want me to be part of their staff and I can choose the job title.

I got some questions regarding this that hope someboday can clarify for me:

1)In my case, would be the H1B visa the one to apply for?
In case they hire me as a film director to direct a couple of film projects (which may be the case) would still be the H1B the right visa, or could i choose a different one?

2)What's the cap situation with the H1B visa(Heard confussion info)? If i apply for the H1B visa in January 06, will I'll be able to go there and travel as soon as it gets proccessed? (meaning in 2 or 3 months) I need to start working ASAP.

3)I've made some research about the J1 visa and saw that i could apply for it as a practical training visa and then transfer to an H1B. The organization that offers me the possibility is the AIPT program for young professionals.
If that's the case, would I be subject of the 2 year Home Residence Requirement? Would you recomend this option?

Thanks so much for this site and hope somebody can help me with my case.
