My friend got his H1B visa approved in Chennai last week and the Visa Officer told him that he would be getting his passport thru mail in 2-3 days. However, after not receiving his passport for a week, he called the consulate to get an update and they told him that he needs to ask his company attorney to contact USCIS and fill in the missing information in pertinent to his application. The US consulate once they receive the updated information would release his passport. I am not sure what information is missing and the consulate is just telling him the same thing as mentioned above again and again. Does anyone have any clue what is going on here? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
