Just curious, is it possible to Travel to Canada and then to some other country and back to Canada and then enter US under the Automatic Visa Revalidation if the travel to Canada and the other country is less than 30 days?

NO. I have a friend who did that. He drove to Canada, flew to India, flew back to Canada and drove to the US. At the border, they saw the stamp from India in his passport and denied entry. He was stuck 3 months in Canada....
