Hi,
My current company say X is a wholly owned subsidiary of company Y. Recently parent company Y decided to absorb company X completely into itself and therefore I will soon be an employee of company Y and company of name X will cease to exist. FYI there is no change of location rather things are changing just on paper.
So here are my questions:
1) In this situation would I need go for a fresh H1 application from the parent company Y.
2) If yes then do I need a fresh DOL certificate or will the same will do as the place of work is not changing.
3) If no fresh visa/transfer is not required then do I have to inform INS for this change, again if yes then how do I do that.

Thanks for all of your responses.

Kam

It once happened to me...

when my company was brought by another..and at that time I was told by the lawyer that since they were going to maintain my pay-stubs on the previous company's tax id..there was no need to change anything for H1/ LC/ I-140.

get a lawyer's opinion..ask your HR too.
