I'm on a H1B visa. My I-94 and current H1B visa stamping is valid till August next year.I'm shifting to a new employer and have filed for a H1B transfer in premium processing. I am planning to quit from my current company as soon as I get the H1B transfer receipt.
The problem is that my joining date for the new company is 2 weeks later. As I'm currently on bench, my current employer would relieve me immediately. So I would have a break of 2 weeks between the last date with my current employer and the first date at my new employer.
1)Would this create any problem for me as I'm not working for any employer during this period ?( For eg. does this 2 week break cause me to go 'out-of-status' on my H1? )
2) Do you think this break could have any repurcussions later when filing for a Employement based greencard with my new employer ?.
