Hi, I got my H-1B in september of 03 and have changed companies in November of 04. My new company lawyers have applied for a H-1B transfer in october' 04 by normal processing and I started working for new company from Nov'04 based on the receipt. I got the approval in Jan'05 but the approved dates are from Oct' 05 through Oct' 07 though the requested dates were from Oct' 04 through Oct' 07. The lawyers of the company sent 3 letters to UCIS to correct the dates with no reponse and now the lawyers are saying they are helpless as they are not sure what they need to do next.
Can some experts please suggest me the next course of action for me. Am I presently out of status (since I already left my old company and according to my I797 im not supposed to start until oct' 05 with my new company) and am I allowed to work for my present employer or would it be illegal.
