H1b Transfer issue, Urgent

I came to US on H1b in first week of October, 2008 from company X.But Company x is not able to find a job to me, at the same time I got permanent job with company Y and they transferred my H1b with premium processing. They filed the petition for H1b Transfer on October 20th and I received the I-797 on October 30th, I-94 is not attached with I-797.To start the job, my Attorney is asking me to re-enter in to the US by showing the new I-797. Is it not required to go for Visa stamping? a new I-94 is enough to start my new job.I have valid H1b Visa till 2010. Please suggest and clarify. Appreciate your response.

Yes...i think your lawyer is correct. But before you go out of country you take couple of latest paystubs, employment verification letter with your current company (Y). Upon entry you can show the valid I-797 (from Y) and you will get new I-94 based on your new I-797.
