H1B transfer issue, please respond

I am posting this message for a friend of mine. Please.... respond

My friend went to india on jan 27th and came back late to US on may 26th 2006. His employer (company B) has sent an employment termination letter to his home and it had a clause in it about H1B going to be cancelled.

He transfered his H1B from company A to Company B in october 2005. If this H1B is going to be cancelled.
Can he now transfer his H1B from company A to a new company?
 
Since the H1 has been already transferred from A to B, company A is no longer in picture. Your friend can transfer from B to another company, but he probably needs to do it soon. When you file for transfer, you need to provide recent pay stubs etc, also hopefully the H1 transfer application reaches USCIS before company B sends in the H1 cancellation notice
