H1B Transfer/GC Application during 6th Year

My 6th Year H1B expires on 31Dec2006. This does not account for the 3 months vacations outside US over past 5 years (some folks say I can stay until 31Mar2007 if I account for vacations)

I moved Jobs from "A" to "B" on 1-Nov'05. My H1B transfer is applied and I have the WAC # though the status is still "In Process" and may take 90-120 days. I work in California. I am currently working with "B" based on the receipt #.

1)
I am getting another job with "C" which I love to take. Can I transfer H1B to "C" while my current H1 transfer from "A" to "B" is in process? Else what is the process to eventually work for "C"?

2) If I can get my H1 transferred to "C" as in (1) , then when is the latest I can apply for my GC considering my vacation, etc.

3) a friend of mine got his labor approved in 1 week via PERM. Assuming that I apply my GC in May'06(<1 year) and I get my labor approved by June'06, will I be eligible for H1B extension or would I have to stay out of US for a year? What is the premise for H1B extension -
(a) can H1B be extended if Labour is approved - in which case if my labor is approved in Jun'06 I can apply for extension.

or
(b) H1B can be extended if GC application has been in process for more than a year

Is it (a) or (b) or both.

Thanks much in advance. Would greatly appreciate your response.

Rgds, Suri
