I have been working for the past 3 years for a government lab under the Non-Profit category H1B. I recently received an offer from a software company and they want to transfer my H1B. My questions are
1. Is it possible to transfer an H1B from non profit to profit without coming under the cap. In other words can i start working for the company once they have sent in my petition and received a receipt?
2. Do the 3 years the i worked under the non-profit category count towards the 6 year limit for the H1B visas?. So in essence would i have 3 years left or 6 years left on my visa when i move to the industry?
