I'm already in my 6th year of H1B which will end in november. I have already got 7th year extension. Planning to apply for I-140 soon. The conditon of my current company is not very good. My question is, if I want to change the job after I cleared (hopefully) I-140, how many years on transfered H1B I will get? One or Three?

If I'm getting three year H1B through new company then it will be easy for getting gc processing from new company along with keeping PD.

Pl. help.

YES.. You will get 3 years extension after I-140 approval.

So try to apply I-140 thro' Premium then you are on safe edge.

Also there are other thread going on this discussion.. that
you can keep the PD if your
I-140 is approved AND while your still employed with the same company AND comapny do not revoke your case(after ou quit).

H1B transfer

Thanks for reply. Someone told me that whenever h1B transfer happens, it is has # of days left from the current H1B. So now I'm little confused.I has never earliear done any H1b transfer. Can somebody else also cofirm for me on this. i.e. After clearing I140, if I look for new employer, can new employer file for 3 years H1B based on my current I140( hopefully i will cleared it)?

If not, is anyway I can change current 1 year H1B extension which is effective from december to three years?

Thanks in advance.

3 years h-1 extension based on i-140 approval IF you can't not apply for i-485 yet due to retrogression.

1 year in other scenarios.
