H1B Transfer - Do I need an extension?

Currenlty on 3rd year of H1B. First 3 years expires December 2008, so I need to start the process for extension.

BUT I plan to change jobs, which would require tranferring my visa from company A to company B. I am aware that once I file for an extension I cannot transfer.

If I transfer my visa now to a new employer, will it automatically be valid for 3 years or only until December 2008? Will I still need an extension through the new employer?

Didn't you posted the same question before? You can get the H-1B extended and transferred together, from the the new employer. I don't see any problems here.

So are you saying that I would definetely need the new company who I will transfer the visa to, to also extend it? When transferring the visa in my situation, it does not automatically extend for three years, you MUST file an extension?

I want to make sure I understand this correctly because I have to decide to either extend my visa with premium processing with my current employer (to be safe) and than transfer to company B, or have company B do both. This is the decision I need to make ... thanks
