H1B to L2-EAD

Hi,

I am currently in a H1B visa and my 6 years are expiring in December. My wife got a job and they are applying for a L1 visa. My question is - if I go on a L2 visa and get an EAD then will I be able to continue my employment on L2 EAD and get additional time or once the 6 years are over then I am out of luck and will not be able to work.

"Spouses of L-1 workers may apply for work authorization by filing Form I-765 with fee. If approved, there is no specific restriction as to where the L-2 spouse may work."
