H1B to GC

I have benn granted a H1B visa on August 2001, and now i dont know what to do in regards of apllying for a GC, everybody have told me that this process would take around 3-4 years.
Is there any way to process it faster, or to short cut the process?

With Perm Process, it looks like your labor would be cleared in less 4 months, I guess that is much faster than the old process .
