H1B To F1 time duration

Hi,

I am currently working on a H1B visa in the US. I applied for grad schools and will probably go for masters in august, 2006.

My question is this: If i apply for my F1 visa in May 2006, Can i continue to work on the H1B after the F1 is granted ?

No.

The F1 and H1 are mutually exclusive visa catagories.

1. You can work on your H1 visa if you have only applied, but not have been granted F1-status.

2. You CANNOT work on your H1 visa once your F1 has been granted.

Working on both visas would be akin to having both visas, which is not allowed.
