I was on my second H1-B visa with Company B starting in 2011 until I was laid off in April/2012. My H1-B runs out in Sep/2014.
I was able to apply to a local school on time and filed my change of status to F1 before my last day on the job.
I now hold a valid F1 visa while looking for a new job.
My question:
1. Once I secure a new job, how long will it take for change of status from F1 back to H1b?
2. Will I have to leave the US to get a new H1-B stamp or can I still use my current H1-B stamp and a new I-787 form to travel in and out of the US?
